Position Summary
The Deposit Operations Processor helps ensure the smooth and accurate completion of daily credit union operational tasks. This role focuses on processing transactions, supporting account maintenance, assisting with documentation, and providing general operational support to internal teams. The Deposit Operations Processor helps identify discrepancies, routes issues to the appropriate staff, and maintains a strong commitment to accuracy, security, and excellent service. This position contributes to protecting member assets and supporting overall operational efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Serve Texas Tech CU members and coworkers pleasantly and professionally in accordance with TREKS core values of trust, respect, excellence, kindness, and stewardship.
• Process operational transactions such as deposits, adjustments, returned items, and basic exception items.
• Assist with updating account records, completing maintenance requests, and ensuring proper documentation.
• Support ACH, check, and electronic payment processing activities.
• Assist with account research and respond to internal inquiries in a timely manner.
• Follow credit union policies and remain aware of applicable regulatory requirements.
• Monitor assigned account activity queues for unusual or suspicious transactions and notify the Operations Manager as appropriate.
• Support fraud alerts, dispute documentation, and account restrictions
• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive member information.
• Maintain accurate records and assist in preparing documentation for audits and examinations.
• Participate in internal audits and operational reviews as directed.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflow efficiency.
• Partner with front line staff and other departments to resolve operational issues.
• Provide general operational support and assistance to internal teams.
• Contribute positively to process improvements and overall operational efficiencies.
Skills & Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior financial services experience preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Willingness to learn operational processes, regulatory expectations, and departmental systems.
• Problem solving skills and motivation to grow within the Operations department.
