Position Summary: The Card Services Intern provides operational support to the Card Services department while gaining valuable exposure to the various aspects of financial technology and duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn the fundamentals of the credit union’s card services operations, including the differences between debit and credit cards, how authorizations and settlements work, and the lifecycle of card transactions.
- Process and resolve card-related requests by completing incoming debit card limit increase tickets, travel alerts, and escalations involving debit/credit cards and associated add-on services.
- Investigate and resolve transaction denials by identifying root causes, applying necessary exemptions, and coordinating with frontline personnel to ensure seamless member experiences.
- Support credit and debit card portfolios by monitoring the debit switch, processing returned card mailings, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Maintain vault and branch inventory by monitoring debit card printing supplies, managing stock levels, and initiating replenishment orders as needed.
- Assist with ITM cash operations by supporting the Card Services Specialist during cash replenishment activities when required.
- Learn and contribute to the testing and rollout of new card services products and enhancements.
- Adhere to company safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform related duties as required.
