Position Summary
The Loan Operations Specialist serves as a member liaison between dealerships and insurance providers, and assists with dealer payments, insurance claims, and development & maintenance of consumer lending policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve Texas Tech CU members and co-workers pleasantly and professionally in accordance with Texas Tech CU core values of Trust, Respect, Excellence, Kindness, and Stewardship.
- Assist in the development of consumer lending policies and procedures.
- Maintain consumer loan files and verify that they are filed accurately.
- File, maintain and complete electronic loan records while upholding accuracy
- Oversee product cancellations, refunds and claims.
- Process loan drafts, auto checks, and payments.
- Assist Risk Management department with payoff checks and insurance claims.
- Assist with the processing and releasing of titles.
- Process various loan maintenance reports.
- Assist in examinations and audits.
- Ensure lending compliance in accordance with external regulations and internal policies.
- Provide miscellaneous lending support as needed.
- Provide educational resources to Lending Department staff.
- Assist the Consumer Loan Operations Manager in administrative loan duties.
- Serve as back-up consumer lending assistant, as needed.
- Answer phone calls and member inquiries for loan payoffs, insurance questions, and other loan operations concerns.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous lending, finance, or loan operations or processing experience, preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent and professional written and verbal communication abilities along with cross departmental collaboration.
- High attention to detail will be required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
