Position Summary:
Texas Tech Credit Union seeks an IT intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. While working closely with your mentor, you will have opportunities to work alongside others to learn as much as possible about Information Technology and to actively contribute to meaningful projects while working closely with the Information Technology department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn and grow your understanding of IT systems, security, and best practices
- Support the IT Infrastructure and Application departments in maintaining hardware, software, and other systems.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
- Assist in the maintenance of IT standards and documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service for users, members, and management both in person and during remote support situations.
- Exercise sound judgement, initiative, and attention to detail as well as the ability to function well in a rapidly changing environment.
- Gain first-hand experience interacting with various departments across the credit union
- Meet with intern supervisor to grow in internship development opportunities
- Meet with assigned education committee mentor to grow in personal development opportunities

Skills/Qualifications
- Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Management Information Systems major. Upper-level students preferred. (Actively pursuing industry certifications is also acceptable.)
- Students must be currently enrolled at least part-time in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at Texas Tech University or Lubbock Christian University
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher within the major and junior or senior undergrad standing are preferred
- Reliable transportation and a valid license are mandatory as there will be occasional travel to remote properties to provide support. (Mileage reimbursement available.)
- Able to lift 50lbs and comfortable sitting or standing for long periods if necessary.
- Excellent ability to prioritize work and report. Professional demeanor and dress.
- Must work well independently and in a team setting. Needs effective communication skills.
