Position Summary: The Data Analytics Intern at Texas Tech Credit Union will have the opportunity to work closely with our business intelligence team and gain valuable experience in extracting, analyzing, and visualizing data to help inform strategic decisions. This internship is designed to provide exposure to various aspects of data analytics within financial services and help you develop practical skills that will be valuable for your future career.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting and cleaning data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Perform fundamental data analysis using Excel, SQL, and Domo tools to extract meaningful insights and trends.
- Create clear and compelling data visualizations, such as charts and graphs, to communicate findings to team members and stakeholders.
- Generate reports summarizing key findings, trends, and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide support in delivering data-driven solutions.
- Maintain documentation of data sources, data analysis processes, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and continuously improve your skills in data analytics and related tools.
Skills and Qualifications
- Students must be currently enrolled at least part-time in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at Texas Tech University or Lubbock Christian University, such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher within the major and junior or senior undergrad standing are preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Excel, SQL).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and ability to execute.
